At Happy Paws Puppies, we take great pride in raising healthy, happy, and well-socialized puppies. Because live animals require specialized care, health commitments, and safety precautions, our return and refund policy differs from standard retail businesses.
1. Deposits & Waitlist Fees
Non-Refundable Deposits: Reservation fees and waitlist deposits used to hold a puppy are non-refundable, as they reserve your position and cover administrative and care costs.
Transferable Credit: If you are unable to take a puppy from a chosen litter due to unforeseen circumstances, your deposit may be transferred to a future litter within 12 months, provided you give us at least 14 days' notice prior to pickup/delivery.
2. Health Guarantee & Returns for Illness
Initial Health Examination: Buyers are required to have their puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 to 72 hours of receiving the puppy.
Genetic Health Guarantee: If your veterinarian detects a severe, life-threatening congenital or genetic defect within the period specified in your signed adoption agreement, you may return the puppy for a full refund or exchange it for a puppy of equal value from an upcoming litter (subject to veterinary confirmation).
Exclusions: Routine medical care, preventable illnesses, common parasite treatments (e.g., worms, giardia), accidental injury, or stress-related issues occurring after handover are not eligible for a refund.
3. General Returns & Change of Mind
Live Animal Policy: Due to biosecurity risks and the welfare of our animals, we do not accept returns or offer refunds for "change of mind," allergy developments, landlord conflicts, or personal lifestyle changes once the puppy has left our care.
Rehoming Assistance: If you ever find yourself unable to care for your puppy at any point during its life, Happy Paws Puppies will assist in rehoming or take the puppy back to ensure it goes to a safe, loving home. However, no monetary refund will be issued for voluntary surrenders.
4. Shipping & Delivery Charges
Delivery and transportation fees (hand-delivery, flight nanny, or ground transport) are paid directly to third-party services and are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances once transit has begun.
5. How to Initiate a Claim
